Legal tip of the week: VAT vendors buying property

Did you know that as a VAT vendor, if you purchase property from a person / entity that is not VAT registered you may still be entitled to claim Notional Input Tax on the purchase price. Although there are several criteria that will need to be looked at to ascertain the ability of such a claim, it does mean that VAT registered vendors are not only limited to purchasing property from other VAT registered vendors.
